Papercraft : Sakuya Izayoi

This time.. it's a new style of Touhou papercraft I found in the net.

Sakuya is the only human living in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, yet she is also the head maid. The official fanbook suggests she had been a vampire hunter before she began working in the mansion, but she was defeated by Remilia Scarlet who pitied her and gave Sakuya her current name.



Though she looks about sixteen like the other girls, Sakuya has the ability to slow, stop and possibly reverse time. She seems to have been serving Remilia for a long time and may be far older then she looks. Socially, she interacts mainly with the others in the Scarlet Devil Mansion.



Her talents are cooking, knife throwing and time manipulation. The latter two abilities characterize her appearances in-game, and led to frequent parodies in reference to Dio Brando of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, who also controls time and throws knives. This reference goes so far as Sakuya using some of his poses in a game. She is often associated with dogs by other characters because she is serving as a demon's "faithful guard dog" even though she is a full blood human. Due to the inconsistent artwork depicting her bust between games, dōjinshi often make fun of her by indicating that she pads her breasts.



Lunatica Circle has this model on sale in some online shop.
It costs like 500+ Php (1020 Yen)
It's in pdf format and you have to print both sides of the paper.
The circle also made Reimu and Marisa.

Papercraft: Yukari Yakumo

Here's another papercraft post.

Today, it'll be Yukari Yakumo from Touhou Project

An often seen and referenced character, Yukari is the youkai of boundaries. She was first introduced in Perfect Cherry Blossom as the sleepy mistress of Ran. During Imperishable Night, Yukari teams up with Reimu to find those responsible for the fake moon.



Yukari is known for being a very youkai-like youkai who sleeps all day and lives for the enjoyment of life. Though she rarely leaves her house she's well-connected and is acquainted with most of the most powerful youkai (such as Suika and Yuyuko) as well as anyone having anything to do with the Hakurei border or outside world (Reimu and Rinnosuke). She's possibly the most powerful youkai in Gensokyo and has a tendency to toy with her opponents rather than use her full power from the start. If anyone is suited for the role of "mastermind" it's Yukari, and she often has a great deal of insight and understanding about whatever happens in Gensokyo, and possesses considerable intellectual prowess, as well.


Though she seems flaky and unreliable most of the time, when the safety or security of Gensokyo is at stake, she won't hesitate to get involved, even if it means using others to do the work for her. For example, in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, she treats Tenshi Hinanai with much hostility after finding out the plot of the Heavens. She could easily be either a villain or a heroine, depending on her whims.

I was planning to cosplay her last Ozine '10 (my cosplay debut) but I don't have money to buy the wig so it was cancelled.

Say what? Part 2 : Where's my food?

So... here's my continuation of my post about my cosplay.

My second costume was Yuyuko Saigyouji from Touhou Project

I first cosplayed her in Cosplay Mania X, which was on early October.

I look weird here.

Why Yuyuko? In all of the great touhou characters?
well... it started from what I experienced in my Taokaka cosplay.

On my previous cosplay, I observed that I wasn't able to eat food or hold food while I was on the con since when a congoer wants to take my photo.. I'll give it to someone to hold it.. like my friends, who are jerks and I expect that they might eat it. (jerks.)

So here.. The gluttonous Yuyuko cosplay was born.
Unfortunately, I don't have any photos with me eating or holding food. (rats.)
Since the con didn't let anyone roam around while eating/holding foods.



I think I didn't get Yuyuko's hair exactly. Because Yuyuko's hair is kind of wavy.

I also cosplayed her in Ozine fest '11 on April..


Oh by the way.. The fans are from SM Department store..
I'm too lazy to order the official Yuyuko fan which costs like 40$ so I searched in the local stores.
Yeah, the design is awesome. Too bad it's out of stock now.

So here's to my first Touhou cosplay.
I was planning to cosplay all of the touhou characters but I think that'll take a lifetime.

Papercraft: Alice Margatroid

Alice. Margatroid. from Touhou Project
Alice Margatroid is one of only a few people known to live within the Forest of Magic. She's a magician known primarily for her skillful use of dolls as well as being a loner. She gets in many fights with Marisa but they are somewhat acquaintances, sharing many of the same interests and even teaming up during Imperishable Night and Subterranean Animism.

I made this papercraft for a day. Its pattern is kinda complicated so you need to view it's 3d model on Pepakura Viewer, which can be downloaded for free.
The maker of the model, GT40, unfortunately closed all the download links for this model.
Good thing some of the internet folks have some backup files for it. including me.



I'm a nice person. You can message me or anything and I can give you the file if you want.



It's a tiny model so I suggest you to use tweezers or something if you have big fingers.
If I have the time maybe I can make a bigger pattern!

Say what? Part 1 : SANDWICH!!

This post will be somewhat like a summary of what I cosplayed.

I feel like posting on here so here goes.

My cosplay debut was on Ozine Fest 2011. It was on April 2010.
and I cosplayed as Taokaka from Blaz Blue



Since it was my first cosplay and was kinda shy, I cosplayed a character who covers her face.
I went there with my friends, Katrina, who cosplayed as Tewi Inaba and Lei, who cosplayed Sakuya Izayoi, both from touhou.


I also helped a fellow presidentiable to campaign.


I also met a fellow bear who made this awesome photoshoot of mine

I also cosplayed Taokaka on various conventions such as the Cosplay Challenge on Riverbanks and Toycon 2010 on Megatrade.

And my experience on this costume, it's hard to interact.
What? You think I can eat food with just PAWS?
Bah.
I needed an assistant for this but my friends never helped me.
Jerks.

Panty Scissors!! Mysterious Girlfriend X

Today since I'm bored, and cosplayed the heroine of this manga, I going to review Mysterious Girlfriend X (Nazo no Kanojo X in japanese) by Ueshiba Riichi

To tell you the truth, this is the only manga that made me read it straight for a day. Because of its unpredictable twists and story progression, not to mention the slight "ecchi" in it, it's very addicting to read.

This manga is published monthly in Afternoon Kodansha, and it's on chapter 55 already.

The story is about the relationship of Urabe Mikoto, an Antisocial girl who was a transferee and Tsubaki Akira, a normal high school boy, who were classmates and a couple in secret. They have this bond that when one of them tastes the drool of the other, they can feel what the other one feels. This 'drool bond' became their routine everyday, which is why the story is different from any other love stories.


Urabe and Tsubaki also have friends like Kouhei Ueno and Oka Ayuko, which is also a couple in secret. Urabe and Oka also have a bond with 'drool', which they found out at a certain chapter in the manga.

All I can say is, what a weird love story.
and Urabe's hobby? Panty Scissors.


That's right. Panty Scissors.

So in short, it's a good read. Go try and read it. It's addicting in many ways.

Papercraft : Miku Hatsune

I present to you..

Miku Hatsune Papercraft!!

Took me like 2 days to finish this one. This one's very hard to make it stand since her ponytails is longer than her actual body and I lost a piece of the pattern, which is the belt thing hanging on her skirt.
I admire SSN (the one who made the model) for his style. It's very easy to follow the instructions (well.. you can do this without the instructions.) and the papercraft is cute.

Oh by the way.. The pattern has a stand(?) included. you can glue Miku there so she won't tip over.

Metro Comic Con was...

was fun and disappointing.. at the same time!

It was fun since it's a comic con. I like buying alot of indie comics.

It was disappointing because I didn't have the time to get some pictures of some awesome costumes. Since I was so busy buying and my friend went PMS.

and I got to meet some of the indie comic artists who were there.

I love Comic Cons. I should attend more of it often.

Papercraft.

Behold, Papercraft.

It's my new hobby this year.

Well atleast it's less pricey than collecting Gundams since all you need is a printer, a thick paper (80-200 GSM), glue and scissors.

Sometimes if you feel like it, you can use a inkless pen and a ruler to score folds!
